Shelby and Matt are interested in...
"Although I'm firmly in the camp that thinks Charlie Hunnam needs to stop getting cast in....anything, I'm actually going with Papillon this week. I usually enjoy prison break movies, and I'm genuinely curious about how Rami Malek's natural charisma will mesh with the charisma-black-hole that is Hunnam. Danish director Michael Noer is an interesting choice to helm this remake, so I have high hopes." - Shelby
"I have similar concerns about Hunnam in this film, but the combination of a very effective trailer, interesting imagery, and Rami Malek as the other lead (plus some less-than-strong competition this week) is enough to put the film over the top." - Matt

"Oh god...don't even mention that Searching movie around me. How did someone actually make a movie about the most uninteresting/boring aspect of our daily lives...watching someone ELSE click around on their computer. Jeesh. Anyway, I guess I am going to go with The Happytime Murders this week. It looks slightly annoying (KID FRIENDLY PUPPETS SAYING GROWN UP STUFF HA HA), but at least it's a more high-concept comedy starring Melissa McCarthy, which tend to bode well for her. Spy was her last actually good movie, so hopefully this is a sign that she will start doing movies with more clever dialogue, inventive genre play, and better characters.
Also opening in theaters this week...
