ICYMI: Remo Williams: The Adventure Begins (1985)
For the last two-plus years I’m sure you’ve seen me occasionally rant about the current state of Hollywood. That is, the lack of originality and desire to remake anything and everything. I can’t tell if it’s the audience getting lazier and less sophisticated or the executives and producers refusing to challenge the status quo. Regardless, there are no absolutes in this life or my film taste so I offer one definitive recommendation for something I believe could use a 2021 make

ICYMI: Wind River (2017)
If you’re lucky, a movie will grab you right from the opening moments. That was certainly my experience with 2017’s Wind River. We see a young woman at night, running in the snow. We do not see her being chased, but she is obviously running from something. We notice her face is slightly bloody and she is barefoot. She is determination defined. The camera cuts to a wide shot of a dark night with full moon shining down. She will be dead soon. We will meet Natalie (Kelsey Asbill
